Football in Rind is more than just a sport; it is an integral part of community life, leisure, and a healthy lifestyle. This sport has its own unique traditions and great popularity in the village, and the residents of Rind have always been active participants in the local football scene.
Although information regarding the history of football in Old Rind is currently incomplete (this section will be updated as new materials are discovered), since moving to the new settlement, sports life here has gained a new quality and improved infrastructure.
Sports Infrastructure
Two main football pitches have been established in the new village, serving different purposes:
The School Pitch
The football pitch at Rind Secondary School, while relatively small, has been one of the centers of the village’s sporting life for many years. It primarily serves for students’ physical education classes and school events. In the past, this pitch was also a favorite spot for adults, where friendly competitions were frequently organized.
The Main Stadium
The village’s primary sporting facility is located in the northern part of the settlement, above 13th Street (on the road leading to the cemetery). It was completely renovated in 2022 with funds from the Areni Municipality, becoming a sports ground that meets modern standards.
The technical specifications of the stadium are as follows:
Total area: 72m x 37m
Artificial turf dimensions: 47m x 24m
Amenities: Night lighting, dressing rooms, drinking water, and outdoor exercise equipment.
This facility has become a vital link in promoting a healthy lifestyle in the village. At the end of the working day, representatives of various age groups can be seen here gathering to hold friendly matches and enjoy the game.
Investment and Support
The development of football in Rind has also been the result of individual initiatives. Years ago, following my request to the Football Federation of Armenia, the village was provided with a significant amount of sporting equipment, including balls and kits, which generated great enthusiasm among the youth.

Coaches and Generations
The local secondary school, particularly physical education teachers Ara Safaryan and Vardan Khachatryan, has made an invaluable contribution to the popularization of football and the education of generations in Rind.
Through the efforts of Ara Safaryan, teams of various age groups are formed and trained in the village. His students regularly and successfully participate in regional and inter-community tournaments, upholding the sporting honor of Rind.
In the village, we also actively follow major football events. A large digital screen is installed in the courtyard of the Culture House, where this past summer we gathered to watch the Armenian National Team’s matches against Portugal and Ireland. Next year marks the 2026 World Cup, and we will once again have the opportunity to follow the most important matches together on the big screen.
