One of the most visited and beloved places in Rind village—the trail leading to Vimapor Church—is no longer just a hiking route, but also a unique open-air gallery. Now, throughout the journey, hikers and pilgrims are accompanied by impressive sculptures carved on natural rock massifs and stones.
Walking along the scenic mountain trail, visitors can encounter images of the local wildlife: a proud mountain goat, a lizard crawling across the rock, a soaring eagle, and other animals.
These rock sculptures are not merely decorative; they are cleverly placed in the exact sections of the trail where a traveler, tired from the ascent, feels the need to stop. The sculptures provide a perfect excuse to catch one’s breath for a moment, study the artwork, take memorable photos, and gather new energy in the lap of nature.
This project, which breathes new life into the trail, is the personal initiative of local youth. Two friends, Varazdat Asatryan and Narek Avetisyan, brought this idea to life with their own funds, concepts, and labor, aiming to make the hiking route passing through Rind more attractive and meaningful.
This also serves as a unique call to the community’s residents and guests: if there are other initiatives, interesting ideas, or thoughts aimed at developing hiking tourism and improving our environment, we are open to proposals and will gladly support their implementation.
