Lake Vardanes

Lake Vardanes (or the Lake Vardanes complex) is a hydrographic natural monument located at the northern foot of Mount Gomadrunk, in the middle reaches of the Ynkuzats River, adjacent to the ruins of the historical Vardanes settlement, at an altitude of 1,748 meters above sea level.

The lake complex has significant environmental importance and is protected by the state. It is officially registered in the state list of natural monuments of the Republic of Armenia.

This status was confirmed on August 14, 2008, by the corresponding decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia “On Approving the List of Natural Monuments of the Republic of Armenia”.
